Skills are smaller components of larger units of learning. For example, Phonological awareness (PA) is a smaller component of the larger unit of reading. Word awareness, syllable awareness, onset-rime awareness, and phonemic awareness are smaller components of PA
When setting up the district skill dictionary....
(1) Identify skills that students can work on to strengthen their grade level (academic, behavioral, socio - emotional) achievement
(2) Choose skills that have a CBM (progress monitor)
(3) Use skill names that are unique because the same skill cannot be monitored more than once in an intervention group. For example, do not use "Fluency" Choose - oral reading fluency, letter naming fluency, passage reading fluency, etc.

Disable/Hide an existing Skill
You cannot delete a skill once they have been added. You can, however, disable that skill, preventing it from popping up in a selection tool when adding skills to a student plan.
This allows the data that has been attached to historical skills to remain in the system.
- To disable a skill, uncheck the "enabled" box that corresponds with the skill you wish to hide.
- The skill "eye" icon is now red with a slash through it, indicating that it has been disabled. This means it will not be available for selection when building Intervention Groups.
