Changing a Goal
Goals can be locked, deleted, edited and copied. To "change" a goal, it is recommended that user's first lock the active goal, and then the user can add the new goal. This will maintain a historical record of decisions based on the student's progress monitoring.
Administrative setup is required to allow users permissions to change goals. See Managing Permissions for more information.
Locking a Goal.
When viewing a goal on a student's plan, users with permissions to modify and delete goals will see a green Lock icon. To lock the current goal, click the "lock" icon. The page will redraw, and the goal will then be moved to the Archived tab. The archived goal will be shown on the graph as a dotted line. A new goal may now be set. The new goal will be shown on the graph as a solid line.
Deleting a goal
Delete goals only if an error was made when creating the goal, and the goal was never intended to be set. If a goal is to be changed because a student is exceeding or not meeting an expected ROI, then the user should lock the goal to archive the original goal and set a new goal. This will preserve the history and integrity of the data.
