The Student Profile captures individual student information in one place.
- Permission settings will allow staff members to see students and information they have permissions to see
- Student information is kept historically for the duration of the time the student is in the district (K-12).
If a student leaves the district and then returns, be sure to use the same student ID# to retrieve historical information.
Main Navigation
1. On the upper right of most any screen in ion, type the first few letters of a student's last name in the search bar.
2. Several names will populate.
3. Click on the student's name you wish to view.
The student profile can also be accessed in other ways - see Other Navigation and Student Profile Pop Ups.
Other Navigation
In Data Walls, Case Management, and Student Plan Page, click on a student’s hyperlinked name to access the student profile.
On a data wall, clicking "Plan" will take the user to a student's plan page.
Student Profile Pop Ups
In some applications, the student profile can "pop up" over the application to view / work in, and then it can be closed to return to the previous work space. For example, I can view and sort a data wall, and then I can click the pop up icon to view a specific student's information and take notes about that student. When I close the pop up, I am still on the same data wall, and I can continue the same process with the next student.
1. In Data Walls, click on the data wall icon next to the student name.
2. This enables the student profile pop up.
3. Click "x" to close when done and return to data wall to continue.
4. Notice the pop up lays on top off the data wall.
5. In Case Management, click on the “Profile” icon.
6. This will enable the student profile pop up.
7. Click "x" to close when done and return to case management to continue.
On a data wall, clicking "Plan" will take the user to a student's plan page.
Click the Student Profile Tabs to access information for individual students.
Student Profile Information can be printed.
1. Click the hamburger button
2. Toggle filters on/off as desired
3. Click print icon
4. Review document and choose printer path

Information that Requires Data Connection to ion from District
These tabs require the district to provide information to ion. Districts can upload the information to ion, or districts can sync their information system to ion for a nightly upload of information. If the information is not synced, the information will not be in the tab.
Information that Requires District Setup
These tabs require the district to to setup a particular module in the ion system. If the module has not been set up, there will not be any information in the tab.
Information that can be Entered by Staff
Any staff member can use these tabs: Observations, notes, parent contact log, and forms. If staff do not use these functions, there will not be any information in the tab.
