Expand or collapse content Exporting ACT Reports

Once you have access to reports on the ACT portal, login - https://success.act.org/s/

Once the file is downloaded, remove the first few lines so that the column headers are on line 1. If this step is done in excel, excel will often change the date format. The date format for each row MUST be MMMM YYYY. Example: January 2023. It is recommended that a text editor such as VS Code or notepad is used to remove the additional rows.

Note: Students who did not take the ACT at their local district may only have the ACT ID in their data record. In order for ion to import their scores, districts must add the student's correct State ID to the ACT score file. If you require assistance with this, please submit a support ticket.

Note - each file you download will read "report.csv" If you are downloading several files, you may want to rename them to keep track, such as HighschoolNameACTReportYY.

Expand or collapse content Uploading Files

Upload the csv file to ion either using our data import function OR our secure server:

Data Import Function

Use our "data import" function under the Admin tab. See images below OR use this video to see how.

  1. Access Admin>Data>Data Import
  2. Click or drag .csv file
  3. Item will show a green check mark when the assessment headers match ion's headers
  4. If the item shows a red "x", send a ticket into ion with the name of the file and the date you imported it. We will trouble shoot the issue.
  5. If the item has a warning message, check "Send it in and let ion do its thing" - this will alert us there is an assessment header mismatch and automatically generate a ticket. We will map the file and let you know when it is ready.

Secure Server Option

Use our secure server atsecure.ion-k12.com. Individual district user names and passwords are in the Admin>Security>District Configuration. See image below.

PreACT

Follow all the steps above after selecting "PreACT" from the dropdown instead of ACT.
