How to Progress Monitor with Weekly Attendance

At times, staff may wish to use weekly attendance as a progress monitoring data point.  ion has the ability to import weekly attendance from the Student Information System - and then automatically attach weekly attendance percentages to a student's academic plan.

Prerequisite:  The district must have an assessment in the assessment dictionary that tracks weekly attendance, imported from the SIS. Contact Customer Support for assistance.

Set Up the Skill Dictionary - A skill must be created to monitor weekly attendance.  

1. Access the skill dictionary

2. Click the "+" icon.

3. Complete the setup fields as demonstrated below.

4. Click the Save icon.

5. The new Skill will be nested under "Behavior" as seen in the example.

Set up the CBM Dictionary - The CBM, or progress monitor must now be set up.  

1. Click the "+" icon.  

2. Enter the CBM Name Weekly Attendance.  

3. The CBM Type must match the skill type - Select Behavior

4. Toggle Active to "Yes"

5. Click Save.

6. Weekly Attendance will now appear in the CBM library.

Create a new CBM Measure by hovering over the cog menu - and clicking the green Plus icon.

Fill in the Measure Editor

1. Give the measure a name - Weekly Attendance.

2. Choose the source assessment. (This is the assessment that stores the weekly attendance percentage from the SIS).

3. The default skill will auto populate with the assessment.

4. Select "Weekly Attendance" from the Source drop down. This will tell our automated processes to look for this CBM when processing data.

Set up MTSS - Plans or MTSS - Intervention Groups as desired using weekly attendance as a CBM / progress monitor.
