By default, teachers have access to students on their roster. The roster is synced from the Student Information System (SIS). If you do not have access to a student in your SIS, you will not have access to that student in ion.
There are two additional ways that permissions to students can be added in ion.
1) Create and Manage roles - See Creating a Role, Managing Roles . and Managing Permissions for Existing Roles. These roles are managed / created and then assigned to users.
2) Managing Teams. Schools can create teams and assign staff to that team.
